UPP powers the moments where customers choose, buy, and upgrade their GoDaddy plans. Rather than every product building its own checkout and upgrade screens, UPP gives them one consistent, well-tested experience. Below are the main ways a customer becomes or stays a paying customer. Over time this page will grow into a full gallery of what UPP can do.

Conversion types

Three ways customers convert

Every paid conversion starts from one of three places. Each is a different moment in the customer's journey, and UPP handles the full experience for all three.

Direct to Paid

A customer buys a new paid product subscription.

This is a fresh paid purchase. The customer may be brand new or a long-time GoDaddy customer, what matters is that they are buying a new product subscription. GoDaddy offers many products, and UPP supports this direct purchase across a wide range of them.

A customer picks a product and checks out.

Free to Paid

A customer on a free plan converts to a paid one.

This is our chance to monetize a free plan. Some products let customers start for free, and Free to Paid is where we make the case for going paid and nudge them to take it, whether that is unlocking a feature, lifting a limit, or growing their business. UPP surfaces the right upgrade at the right time and carries them through payment.

A free user is prompted to upgrade and converts to paid.

Paid to Paid

A paying customer renews or moves to another paid plan.

Customers rarely stand still. Paid to Paid covers moving up to a higher tier, stepping down to a smaller one, or renewing the subscription. It is about keeping customers you already have on the plan that fits them best as their needs change.

A customer renews their plan or upgrades to the next tier.
